Fika
A very mizzley, murky morning but not exactly cold.
We headed off on a mission across Bradford and the M62 to IKEA, really can’t remember how long ago it is since we were there.
We had a coffee (blip)and it was pleasantly quiet. The Bistro wasn’t open which didn’t make a lot of sense as you could still get hot drinks and cooked breakfasts. No matter it was too early for meatballs though we did buy some to take home for the freezer and some for our son - a good standby.
There was a wall sign in the cafe explaining the Swedish term Fika which I would have been tempted to photograph but it was above one of the few occupied tables. We don’t always have something with our coffee but we do often make stopping for one part of our daily ritual, a good Swedish tradition.
We got what we required from the toy dept but it’s amazing what other little things you see and pick up. Nothing for more than £5 including an Amaryllis in bud, which I’m hoping might flower by Christmas and a bottle of glogg, but it was amazing what it all added up to!
We missed the Christmas rush so that was good and we probably won’t need to go again till well into next year.
Meeting friends in the pub in a couple of hours which we haven’t done for several weeks so a good Wednesday.
