WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

The Leaf and Bean…

…Vegetarian/Vegan cafe is where I am just now. I came here because I am vegan and I am vegan because I can’t bear to think of animals being killed. I know I’m in a minority and have many friends who eat meat and dairy. That’s fine everybody has a choice. I go to pubs for a meal where on the next table people will be having a roast dinner. It doesn’t bother me much.
Today though, I am shopping and thought I would treat myself to a lunch among like minded people so came here.
I have to actually chuckle as I write this because the two ladies in the photo had some kind of soup. But then they started talking about Christmas Dinner and how they like their duck cooked all crispy, then they went on to lamb, beef and bacon, then fish. They were talking really loud as one was a bit deaf I think.
One woman was saying that her hubby didn’t like duck in fact she thinks he is going off meat. The other was advising the first one that she should try to make him eat some meat otherwise where would he get his protein from? He’ll end up ill!

I sat there tucking into my hummus and roast pepper sandwich and lovely mixed salads. I was glad when the ladies left with their meaty descriptions!

You have to laugh! :-D))

Anyway, in other news - the boat is finished, her bottom is a lovely shade of black. We were up early and while I took Bella out Frank started painting then I helped when I got back. We were finished by 10am. Then we walked into town where we split up so I could go to the train station to collect my ticket for tomorrow as I am going up to Sabrina’s for Lucy’s birthday - she will be 6. Then I had a wander round the charity shops.
I found another Maggie O’Farrell book (yesterday I found a Geraldine Brooks one;-) some DVDs for on the boat and also a sparkly bead necklace and coloured diamanté buckle. I’ve been picking up sparkly things for Lucy as she loves looking at my jewellery, none of which is ‘real’ or expensive but is very sparkly. She’s like a magpie.
Amelia is completely different and prefers small and subtle.

We’ll spend our last night in the dry dock and we can take Fiddlesticks out first thing tomorrow. We have to be back in Hellifield early so I can get ready. My train is just after one there.

I’ll head back up to the boat now to clean it on the inside ready to leave it for the next few weeks.

I haven’t been able to look at all the Blips yet through lack of WiFi but I’ll catch up.

Hope all you Blippers are well and happy :-)X
