The Goldfinches are back

The Goldfinches are back nest building today making up for lost time. They are back in the tree that was damaged in the blizzard last week. Greenfinches are making plenty of noise but not as visible today.

A sunny day but we still had one snow flurry out of nowhere an hour ago.

The Rooks round the corner are back on their nests - not sure how much they will have been affected by the bad weather but they had plenty to say to each other as I was passing including some very strange chuckles among the more usual calls.

House Sparrows in neighbouring streets really seem to have recovered and increased in numbers in the last few years and even visit me on occasions now.
