Red, Green, and Blue

I went to see Coco Avant Chanel today with Sherry. She will be leaving for the US on Friday after studying in France for a year (Paris first semester, Bordeaux second semester). I asked her if she was excited to go home. She replied that her departure will be a bittersweet moment. This will probably the last thing I do with her.

The movie was interesting. As the title says, Coco before Chanel, the audience gets to know Chanel before she finds success in the fashion industry. The film recounts her early life just up until the lost of her love to a car crash. Then the film cuts several years later to a fashion show. My overall impression was that it was a bit slow and that maybe the director could have done a little bit more with showing how Chanel got into the industry. Nevertheless, I think the director does a good job at depicting the story. The shots were well done and I really feel the film had a high production value. Audrey Tautou from Amélie also does a magnificent job.

I had taken a photo of the theater early in the day, but I didn't take many photos of the theater so I went back and did a "pick-up" or rather I went back and took some more. However, when I out again, it was raining and I feared for my camera's life.

What did I do earlier? I met up with Alice, the French student who Mme Lacoste introduced me too. We talked and I practiced my French. Later her friends came and I spoke more French with them. Sometimes, I feel like I stumble with my French, but then at other times I feel like I do really well. I do would say though that my French has significantly improved upon the few months I've been in France.

Other things I did:
-Bought groceries
-Cooked food for the week
-Seriously procrastinate... (I just need to focus and get these papers out of the way. I can do it!)

EDIT:
I need to mention, this art is continually changing. I saw some people working on it a few weeks back. And also, this graffiti has to be the only large graffiti in the area. There are some tagging in the stairs of the Arts Plastiques building at school though.
