Modern Cathedrals

Went shopping today. This shopping mall is no different to any other mall in the world. It is safe, warm, bright and easy to get around. But, it is also so boring with shops all selling the same thing, the same 'everythingness'. Corporate Lifestyle.
In these 'Cathedrals to Commerce', I am constantly reminded of the opening of the Tom Cruise film, Minority Report, where he walks through the mall and adverts speak directly to him by name. I fear that will soon be reality for us too..........
How ever, in a busy working life it is very convenient to have one stop shopping (except at Christmas, when I do it by internet because all shops are hell to get to in the run up to the big day)
