Fireworks at Whitley Bay

We drove down to Whitley Bay to walk to the beach with #2 daughter and family to see the fireworks. The prom was crowded even though the fireworks were some distance away so we went down to the beach where there were less people. I was happy with that as I could get reflections in the wet sand.

Last year was just before lockdown so there were no public displays - we took all our lot to the beach with sparklers. I think they were as happy with that as anything. James didn’t like the bangs. Both the boys were tired, having played rugby in the morning and at swimming in the afternoon where they are learning butterfly which must use a lot of energy.
