Garden of Eden
No prizes for guessing where we spent today! The biomes of the Eden Project (near St Austell) are such distinctive structures. We were interested to visit the Project again, having not been there for about fifteen years. Since then, both the Mediterranean and Rain Forest Biomes have been developed greatly. Now, there are many more interpretation signs, and landscape features, plus the trees and shrubs have grown up, nearly filling the enormous space within in each biome, which all makes for a more exciting and awesome experience. Outdoors, in the workings of the old china clay pit, extensive gardens have been created (although not looking their best now it is Autumn). There is also a new building called the Core, (shown on the right in my blip) based on the shape of a sunflower, to house exhibitions about invisible (to the naked eye ) worlds such as those of bacteria, viruses, algae.
It is an interesting place to spend several hours, or a whole day. The entry ticket is a year's pass so you can return as often as you wish.
