Second load of rocks stumped
Well we had the same delivery guy as last time for our big rocks and he set the tone for a comedy of disaster.
This time he came front on down the driveway having ignored the directions to approach in reverse. Our plan this time was to make the drop off point much simpler for him, as half the distance as last time.
So he did a bit of a swing around and reversed to get into position to drop our boulders.
He decided to give the engine a turbo charged burst in reverse and voila - succeeded in wedging the truck tray right across a strategically placed ancient tree stump.
The truck was half bogged and fully lodged on the stump-hoist. It was quite comedic as we observed the side mirror was angled into the cabin ,which is great if you like your own profile and blithely reverse by touch parking.
Any how our lovely heroic neighbour Greg was requested to aid the scene toting his chainsaw.
“Don’t you just hate that “ he said wryly as he observed our truckie looking at the stump and his inanimate vehicle.
Chain saw was engaged and we were confidently on the way with our hero’s skilful execution until you guessed it , the chainsaw became absolutely stuck in the stump.
After another concerted effort our guys with multiple tools and wedges , the chain saw was released, the truck dumped the rocks and headed off over the horizon.
Greg peered inside the rotted stump and pulled out a block of concrete which was a weight with a handle on it. A remnant from an old building site no doubt.
That was the culprit with the chain saw.
The good news was no rocks were harmed in this episode.
Oh and the humans survived another day.
