Mr. Zhang the Florist

Meet Mr. Zhang he's been a florist for 5 years and he's lived in Shenzhen for 5 years. His hometown is Maoming in Guangdong province.

I met him outside a newly opened restaurant specialising in dishes from Hunan province where he'd placed had set up four flower stands in front of the restaurant. Floral displays are a common feature here for grand openings and he charged 200 RMB per stand in total about £80.

This photo is part of a new project I've begun on Tumblr called SHENZHENers that focuses only on people in Shenzhen. I'm also running the same project in Chinese on Sina Weibo for the Chinese audience.
