Harvest Time
The soy is ready to go. I walked down the road and watched Farmer Al harvesting. He was just about done for the day when his twin brother drove up. They were talking about the moisture in the soy. I always wondered why the harvesting was done in the evening. Apparently, this morning's frost added moisture to the plants. They dry out during the day. The ideal moisture is 13%.
Al's brother said that no one is planting corn next year because the price of chemicals has skyrocketed. He said the price of nitrogen is really high.
