We went from Edinburgh, on an almost empty train, to Glasgow to see what it was all about...

The agenda for the town centre was protests in George Square. Police and protesters all seemed in good spirits.

As evening fell the pubs and restaurants filled up with people talking excitedly in a myriad of languages.
