Splish, Splash.....

The coots (Fulica americana) had the pond all to themselves today and I think the invitation went out to every coot in the county.  There must have been 80-100 of them playing enthusiastically on the water and believe me, they are fun to watch.  They dive, they surface, they splash and I swear they chase each other.  Whatever they're doing, it looks like a lot of fun.  I put a picture in Extra of part of the larger group but there were at least that many out of the frame.  I hope they had as much fun as I was having watching them.
