Berkeleyblipper

Enjoy Your Meal...

Some good friends from Berkeley came up for dinner yesterday, helped us inagurate our new kitchen and spent the night. We took them to a restaurant we like a lot in Geyserville. I blipped it once, or rather I blipped the pig's head in their charcuterie case. (see 10/7/12). I didn't find it off-putting, but I guess a lot of people did, because they have removed it. They do make wonderful house cured meats, and we all shared the charcuterie plate--sopresata salami, prociutto, a sheep milk's cheese salsa verde and salsa rosso, and, something I've never seen outside of parma, fried bread--yum.

We were not even put off by the warning sign on the front of the building. There are geysers nearby--thermals that come out of the ground--and there are earthquakes, but as OilMan said, "...they're just little ones." Until there's a big one. As it turned out, we sat in the outside patio so we didn't have to worry about the building collapsing on us in case of an earthquake. Only the steel beam that holds up the sun roof over the patio...

Rain is threatened for Easter, but as you can see from the reflection of the sky in the picture, it was a lovely day today to sit outside and reminisce about trips to Europe over a very European meal in a very European setting. Except for the earthquake part....
