Abstract Thursday Kitty

I was just following orders. A few days before Halloween, wife Lisa told me to make a picture for grandson Merrick to paint. I got a picture from last year of Lisa, Merrick, and daughter Karen posing with their carved pumpkins, printed it, transferred it unto canvas, and outlined it with a permanent marker. A permanent marker.

Good to go, huh? Good to paint, huh? Noooo, Lisa and Karen didn't like the picture.

So, I put two coats of light blue paint over it, but you could still see the picture. Then, I switched to a dark gray, but it still took me 3 more coats before I couldn't see the pumpkin carvers.

Now, it's an abstract  Michigan cat instead.
