From bud to flower, with raindrops

Our roses are so beautiful at the moment that it’s hard to go past them for a blip, especially when they are enhanced by raindrops. It’s interesting that in some flowers, like this rose, the bud is a quite different colour from the flower. I wonder why that is?

I have just seen MountGrace's blip today. As my mother used to say 'Great minds think alike...'  There was absolutely no coordination.
