Manual...

People of Blipland, I give you...(drum roll, please)...

...my first ever digital SLR photo on a manual setting. It's hardly the nicest picture I've ever taken, and in fact I wouldn't normally blip something so badly constructed, but the fact is - it's MY badly constructed photograph, rather than the camera's and I'm still pretty chuffed with it because of that.

For Christmas, Bry bought me the best present he's ever given me (well, okay - the flights to India for my 30th were probably the VERY best, but since then this was the best present) - a 6 week photography course with Stills Gallery. I am loving it. This picture was the first one I took where I worked out all the settings, and I'm pretty determined that I'm not going to click onto automatic ever again.

It's not sinking in as much as I hoped it would, but I hope that it's a bit like driving a car - eventually it all fits together without even thinking about it...

Bare with me though, will ya - my Blips might be a bit bonkers for a while!
