Koftjalk Tromp on the quay of the Diepswal Dokkum

It is the largest tjalk in the world. This ship survived heavy storms, strandings and two world wars with sea mines, submarines, shelling and bombing

It was built in 1912 in Martenshoek. De Tromp has sailed for about 90 years at sea, 28 which in the Mediterranean. Its home port has been Groningen for more than half a century. Now it is in Dokkum since 2020 and serves as a terrace.
