Went on a different walk today, up the track instead of along the creek.
I do delight on finding pieces of infrastructure the haven't been erased by the march of progress/time/fires. So the first is a fence post that is miraculously upright. the extras are it's companion a couple of metres away.
It may have been a corner support fence post with a weather-beaten metal cap, or it also looks like a mail pillar with its little shaped metal cover on top. Or, both. My gut feeling is the latter.
