The second half of life..

Minnie is a funny wee thing! She rarely comes to sit on my knee unless I'm offering her some treats and her preferred relaxation location is this..... draped over the back of a chair. If I happen to walk past she also insists on having play time which usually involves her pretending to 'claim' the chair back and pretend-fighting off whoever or whatever dares to approach........ she'll play-bite my hand (very gently) and then insist on a tummy-rub. She really is quite cute. The white spots she has over her coat are biddy bids from the forget-me-nots in the garden. I thought I'd pulled most of them out over ther past week or so but it seems I missed some!

In COVID news, there are 100 new community cases today and 10 cases asst the border. 58 are in hospital and 3 in ICU. Sadly, this evening we're receiving reports of the death of someone with COVID who was isolating at home. It's unclear at this stage whether COVID or an underlying condition is the cause of death.

On a much brighter note though, the news of the day comes from Western Australia where a young girl who went missing 18 days ago from her tent whilst the family were camping has been located alive and well. Hope seemed to be fading. The news of her recovery from within a locked house in the family's home town brought tears of joy and relief. There'll be a much bigger story unfold over the next wee while no doubt.
