Furious Driving
This stone carving commemorates the first driving offence to be prosecuted on the Isle of Wight - in 1899.The perpetrator was recorded driving his motor wagonette at a speed of 18 miles an hour in an 8 mile an hour limit. He was fined £3 with 11 shillings costs.
