A promise of spring?

I took my bike out for a whirl this afternoon in the hope of blowing away some cobwebs. There was snow in the air and on the hills south of the valley but none on the hills above Corbridge and the wind seemed to have dropped off a little. All was well until 2 miles from home when I got a pretty major puncture with the tyre flat in seconds! In the end I decided it would be best to walk home rather than mess about in the cold. EP & I completed an intensive bike maintenance course a couple of years ago but sadly I remember very little!! It was good to get some fresh air and was well wrapped up so didn't feel the cold. The walk home enabled me to appreciate the glorious sunlight on the snow covered hills south of the valley and see the wee lambs with their polythene coats on to keep out the chill.

I managed to get this blip too of a farmer tilling the soil on a recently ploughed field. A promise of spring maybe?!
