Climate emergency

This looks like a water feature but it’s actually a storm drain overflowing in our village this morning after heavy overnight rain.

As COP26 gets underway in Glasgow weather events are increasing at an alarming rate. The infrastructure that supports our everyday existence is under increasing strain. More houses. More people. More cars. More roads … relying on a water drainage system that no longer seems to have the capacity to cope?

The bad weather has also prevented some delegates travelling to Glasgow by environmentally friendly trains.

Most of today was spent finishing the preparations in our new house including another trip to the big orange store and packing up our rental home.

We ignored an unsolicited knocking at the door of our rental house this evening. Halloween “Trick and Treat” is not something we condone.
