Scrub Turkey Battle

While on my morning walk on a path between the houses and sand dunes I came across these two male scrub turkeys engaged in a violent struggle for dominance. In the photo you can see the claws of one out and ready as they fly at each other. I presume one had encroached on the other’s territory (nest). Interestingly it’s the males who build the nests and try to entice females with their construction skills.
