VILLAGE WATER FURROW

Built more than a century ago, this furrow brings the water from the Swartberg to Prince Albert to irrigate the farms and the home gardens. The furrow cuts through our garden and the sound of running water is a delight. Our turn to take water is on Wednesday evening at 8 for 1/4 hour. We have a small dam and a one-horse-power pump that we use to irrigate the fruit trees, veggies and the dry garden in the front of the house.
