Contrasts

Another damp and gloomy day. I spent most of it pottering around the house but did go for a walk to the ponds in one of the drier spells. I took several pics but they seem to have had rain in the lens causing blurs in just the wrong places.
There are a lot of leaves on the ground but most trees are still green. I was struck by the contrasts with these beech trees, most leaves are still on teh trees and green yet there is a thin carpet of brown ones underneath.
This evening we're baby-sitting 3 grandchildren who are now tucked up in bed and quiet, probably asleep. They are all very good at going to bed.
