Pea green

Today we visited a town just outside Valencia, El Palmer, the spiritual home of Spain's national dish, paella. It's a 40 minute bus ride from the centre and the town is clearly geared up for serving paella to the many tourists that arrive year round. It's a pretty sleepy town but we were there to eat paella which we did. It has a reputation for serving authentic dishes and it didn't disappoint. Whist we were there we also took advantage of the boat trips to see the lagoon which is Spain's largest. It's is here that the famous rice is harvested from the many paddy fields that are dispersed throughout the area.
