A local supermarket had donated 5 pumpkins to the cafe and Leigh and I were asked to carve a couple, which was fun - using our knife skills in a different way :-) Mine's the one on the left - Leigh's looks a lot happier!

The river had gone down a lot this morning but the Whitesands was still flooded and it rained all day. I was sent home in the early afternoon in case the roads became impassable, but not long afterwards, the rain stopped and the sun came out, which made me feel a bit of a fraud. There has been a lot of flood damage locally - in Annan two historic footbridges were swept away. More heavy rain is forecast for Sunday.
