Good Friday, Good Indeed

All the family went to the Churches Together Good Friday service at Holy Trinity Parish church - quite different from our church's style - and such a beautiful building, with the stained glass and ceiling covered in Sutton's rose. Then hot drinks and hot cross buns before setting off for the Walk of Witness down the Parade, Sutton's main shopping area.

Young folk from Bishop Walsh school enacted the stations of the cross as we walked along. Simon of Cyrene carried the cross in front of McD; Veronica wiped Jesus' face next to Early Doors Bar; Jesus spoke to the women of Jerusalem by the Temple Bar; fell for the third time by Nero's; and got stripped of his clothes next to a 30% off sign.

We handed out palm crosses as we walked along - this lady bus driver seemed very pleased and carefully placed it in the front of her bus.

I am so grateful for what God did on this day - Good Friday indeed!
