Performance Art

The sun came out yesterday, so I dragged the folks around Cowaramup. There are lots of statues of Friesian cows in the main shopping strip.

“The chamber of commerce must have decided the cows suited the town’s name” thought I.
“Strange choice!” said the Sparrow, reading my thoughts. (Gulp, that’s scary!).

“Why’s that?” said I.
“In the local indigenous language, ‘cowara’ means lorikeet and the suffix ‘up’ means place of! So Cowaramup is the ‘place of lorikeets’. The cows are out of place” Says she.

She comes out with things like that sometimes. It was just like when Indiana Jones said “..but in the Latin alphabet, Jehovah begins with an I….” in The Last Crusade.
