Early morning at Bushy Park

I planned to go to Bushy Park this morning for some sunrise photos - it was probably my last opportunity to go this autumn when the conditions would be right, as tomorrow and on the weekend it is forecast to rain, on Saturday there is the Park Run which makes it too busy, and on Sunday the clocks go back which means I would have to get up an hour earlier. From next week the cull is on again so the park is closed to cars until 8am, after sunrise - so today was the day! It was also still very mild weather today, if I go in December I often get so cold I cannot stay for long as my fingers get numb. No gloves required today and only a light jacket needed.

I got to the park at about 6.50am, an hour before sunrise. I prefer the colour in the sky before the sun rises as once it is up it is often too bright and too yellow. Once the sun had risen I watched some stags for a while, and this big chap did me the favour of standing in front of a tree with autumn leaves just as the sun rose and hit the tree with golden light. I could not decide whether to blip the sunrise or the stag, but I have put the sunrise image in as an extra - I say sunrise, but this was at least 35 minutes before sunrise. I saw quite a few old, big boys this morning, I hope they survive the cull :(

I came home, had breakfast and then took Xena for a walk. By now it was cloudy but still very mild. I spent the afternoon editing images, and then went and did some gym as I missed doing it this morning.

A wet weekend ahead of us!
