Darmera Peltata
Aka Umbrella Plant. I love the way this plant starts the year in spring with single stems of tiny pink flowers. Once they are finished the large leaves appear and remain green until the autumn when they take on the reds and yellows of the season. Once a frost arrives they shrink and curl up becoming dry and dark brown.
The disadvantage is that they have taken over a fairly large area beside our pond. Hopefully soon a couple of strong men will arrive to thin them out.
