Can you see the sea shell?
I'm not sure I can! It grows in our garden, and has just started flowering. We've always called it Variegated Ginger. Wikipedia says it's also called Shell Ginger because its flowers, especially in bud, resemble sea shells. Botanically it is Alpinia zerumbet, from north eastern Asia. Unlike many gingers, it keeps its leaves throughout the year.
