On Look Out

This morning Noodle Pops was on look out, enjoying the fresh fallen snow and playing with Meg up and down the street. It was s bit of a struggle getting out down the lane, but thankfully I made it out. Just.

After another dull and uneventful day at work I went off to pick the kids up from Denshaw as usual. However, the snow had been falling all day and already 1 lorry was stuck on the ascent up the hill. I overtook and hoped for the best. It was fruitial as my car just can't handle those sort of conditions. And after the kerfuffle we had the other year on the same hill in the same conditions, I did the right thing and turned around. I spoke to Sinead and we both decided the best place to meet was in Ashton, via the clear and free flowing motorways!

Having collected my trumptons we drove home and, stupidly, I was desperate to get the car in the car park for the weekend. I skidded all over the road and a few of us had to dig and dig and dig through the snowdrifts of Bradbury Lane to clear the way, but it got in eventually. Stupidly.

The kids were a little scared at times, especially with my car sliding all over and the howling winds, but we got home eventually. It is such a wonderful location were we live, and the extremities of the weather only adds to that. Who would want to live in a city centre flat where nothing ever happens?!
