El Golfo - green lake in a volcanic crater
Another day in Lanzarote, another scene from ‘The Martian’ or so it seems! This green lagoon is really bright and incongruous in its coastal setting with black rocks and pounding surf as neighbours. Nothing in the guide book to say why it’s green but we had fun looking on the beach for rocks with traces of peridot or olivine.
Visited more sights and feel we’ve pretty much seen the all the main highlights. A very interesting landscape for sure, although so dry and barren. I am so looking forward to Scotland’s greenery and gentle undulations, no matter how hideous the weather!
