War memorial

Took this today while walking back from town. A grey day with drizzle and I had the very sad news this evening that the friend I had lunch with at the bridge has died unexpectedly. That makes the photo extra special. She had been in a lot of pain due to waiting for a hip operation but she did not complain. She was a very vibrant and positive presence and she will be hugely missed. Her faith gave her courage and strength and she will be with the Lord and out of pain!
