Milking Time

Well day 1 of our holiday in the Peak District. We're staying in a converted barn on a working farm near Buxton. It's newly rennovated and only opened for business 2 weeks ago so is immaculate. We haven't yet managed to get the wi-fi working in the cottage but they have a games area and we can get a signal in here so this will do for the time being!

The Farm has lots of calves and lambs on it so I'm in my element. One of the sheep was in labour earlier but it was too cold to stand and watch for long. I'm such a townie and have never been so close to lambs before - they're so cute, so expect a lamb blip before too long!

We took a drive into Buxton earlier to stock up on supplies for the week...got there just after 4pm....only to discover the big Waitrose & Morrisons both shut at 4pm on a Sunday! What??? I'm far too used to 24 hour shopping, lol! So having to make do with the basics tonight and will go back again tomorrow.

We took the scenic route along some back roads on the way to Buxton and had to stop for a herd of cows, making their way (very slowly) across the road for milking. Was quite nice to just sit there for a bit and watch them. I'm liking this chilled out way of living!
