Between Takes...

Went for my flu shot this morning and got caught up in a movie shoot in my neighbourhood. There were so many police cars and officers stationed around the various intersections one would hope that no crimes were being committed elsewhere...I am not sure who would be available to respond!

There were two different locations, so traffic on most streets in the neighbourhood was affected. I did make it to the pharmacy in time for my appointment, but then curiosity got the best of me and I returned to hang out for a while watching the action - or lack thereof. At the first location, they were between takes; at the second, they were still working...

I do realize how long it takes to record a simple sequence, but two cars passing each other on a street? Filmed by a drone overhead? How long can that take?  No stunt work. No crashes. And thankfully no weapons involved...just a lot of crew members standing around on a cold, blustery day, watching two cars doing run-throughs..At last, the drone actually got launched and the scene at least got recorded once..It was too cold for me, so I headed home at that point...not sure how many more takes were required after I left....but that was probably not the last.

So, I was treated to a little surprise blip-op today! It was fun to watch as well and if the weather were to improve, I would go back again tomorrow if they were still shooting.. who knows, there might be some action shots!
