coffee mill

this is a modern copy of the type of coffee mills made the Peugeot Freres in the 1800s .  Peugeot, now mainly known for cars, was started by Jean-Pierre who started with a grain mill and an oil mill.  In 1810 Peugeot Freres was founded by Jean-Pierre II and Jean-Frederic [his sons], and they transformed the grain mill into a steel foundry making saws, springs and umbrella frames, as well as pepper and coffee grinders.

this design is still in use today, although I must admit, this one is just for show at home.
