Fungi again

Today I had a walk around Buttermere.  On the way back I decided to use Newlands Pass.  Tourist cars were parked by the roadside higher up the pass than I've seen before. On the way down there is a vegetation change-more deciduous trees and it was on one of these roadside trees I spotted these little beauties!  Never seen this really black fungus before.  I am unsure of the name-they are a type of 'sooty fungus.  More research I think. Crisp and sunny with a breeze.
