Flag of St George

I'm driving up north to see mum and dad.

I stop off in Leek (as I often do) which is an odd little town in a particularly northern time warp, but an interesting one.

It didn't surprise me that the flags of St George and Union Jack's were still flying after St George's day yesterday.

I chose this picture because the flag is made of plastic, the white ground is opaque and the red cross transparent so that it casts a red cross on the blue paint.
