Mess Around
It’s been a few years since I had to grout anything - as I think you can probably tell from the mess in the picture! But the removal of the moulding around the bathroom door (to enable the new door to be fitted) also pulled out the old grouting. I have a few solutions in mind to correct this but whichever route we go down, the gap needs filling. The observant amongst you will have noticed that the grout I have used is not the same colour as the existing. It is supposed to dry a lot lighter and I’m hoping that by the time the moulding is painted and I’ve hung the cabinet back on the wall as close as I can get it to the door frame, the colour difference will not be obvious. If it is, then I’ll ask the painter just to run a line of caulk up it - not ideal and only to be done as a last resort.
A long (nearly four hours) and shambolic play rehearsal tonight. It was the first time we’d tried it with proper lighting and full scenery/props but unfortunately we did not have a full cast. And of those cast that were there, two of us were sleep deprived and incapable of remembering lines we knew perfectly well only a few days ago! With only two more rehearsals before opening night, we can only hope that it all somehow gels before Wednesday.
Painters are back tomorrow. Hopefully this will be the last week and at least we now have a room that is finished where we can stay out of the way of the dust and mess.
Strange to think that by this time next week the play will be over and - fingers crossed - the decorating will be complete. And I’ll be sitting here wondering how to occupy my evenings and Sunday afternoons. Oh, wait, no I won’t. Panto rehearsals start a week on Wednesday!
