(Old) Brasso
An easy diary blip today, which took me back to my days as a Cub, and bob-a-job week.
When we ordered our wardrobes we had some difficulty finding suitable brass knobs from the standard range offered. The designer gave me an idea though when she said one of her other clients had ordered 'tarnished brass' knobs which had a 'living' finish (good bit of marketing there) meaning they changed and polished up with use. The client had spent ages polishing them up with Brasso to get the effect she wanted. I remembered we had tarnished brass in the kitchen and they had indeed become more brassy with age. So I took some old knobs from the kitchen, and got the installers to use those in the bedroom, putting the new ones in the kitchen. The old ones still looked a bit dull and dark in the bedroom but I found some Brasso in the garage (goodness knows how old it was) and 5 minutes work on each one worked a treat.
I used a Classic Camera effect using Analog Efex in honour of the unknown age of the Brasso.
