Two Lizards Lounging
The one in front is pregnant, but I’m not sure about the other. They were lying about 40cm apart soaking up some very thin sunshine. I was interested in their different colours and put them together in the same image for comparison. The pale one is unusual, though I do see them occasionally. The dark one seems darker than the usual.
These common skinks are vivaparous, i.e. they give birth to live young.
They were too far apart to capture in one image and have them large enough for details, so I photographed them separately and then moved the lower one onto the other image.
