A living fossil

No, not me this time, but this Horsetail - Equisetum arvense - whose oldest known relative flourished around 375m years ago evidently. A curious critter: has some helpful medicinal properties but can be poisonous to livestock and is described as one of the world's worst agricultural weeds. I made my drawing from an illustration which I felt gave the poor old plant the chance of a wee bit of elegance and grace to counter its bad reputation
