The beginnings of a quilt

This morning I joined a group of fellow quilters for a foray to our favourite fabric shop. We had a couple of beginners among us and others who were ready to embark on new projects so it was great fun helping everyone choose the fabric they needed. The 12 different black and white fat quarters you see arranged here have been chosen by one lady for a quilt for one of her many grandchildren. By the way a fat quarter is a exactly what it says - a quarter of a metre but cut 'fat' instead of 'long' and it is the traditional way fabric is sold for quilters.

The dogs were delighted to see me home and the walk was very enjoyable as the sun was shining on the white clad hills sufficiently for me to forgive the continuing presence of the icy wind.

Hopefully tonight I will finish the photobook I have put together for my trip to the States in October so that i can at last press the button to send it to the printers.
