Life in Sunny Dubai

EXPO Site

It's Friday, and we just made it to what turned out to be the last online Salvation Army Zoom meeting. You can see life slowly returning back to normal on so many fronts.

The big news of the day is my sister being granted indefinite right to stay in Australia. That has come through sooner than expected, and she is over the moon. It means she can exit the country and come and visit us, something she would have liked to have done before she left Hong Kong, but COVID and long quarantine periods made it unviable.

G wanted some organic ACV, so we headed to the Organic Food Store on SZR. We haven't been there in months, and it's always eye-opening to see what they have on the shelves! Essential item purchased, we decided to have a drive out to the EXPO site to do a reccy. It is still so hot here. The car said 41degC when we got in at 3. That is way too warm for the end of October.

We arrived at the site just as this aerobatics display was taking place. A few weeks ago, the Red Arrows wowed crowds, and I had wanted to see them, but it didn't happen. I *think* this is the UAE's own aerobatics team. G managed to get a good through her window.

We ended up at the Creek for a cup of tea and enjoyed watching the light change. Home to a few chores and dinner. It was great to have an extra day off yesterday. I thought it was Friday all day. Now we have another day off tomorrow. Luxury!

There isn't much pink in my blip today, but I hope you will still click here to help donate a free mammogram to someone who needs it. :))
