today was gloomy and rainy cold and has been cheered by various fires, this being one. Just watching through the window as it merrily burns has warmed me up. I love fire.

Thank you for all the messages yesterday - they were much appreciated. Ma in law is on a normal ward now and stable. She'll be staying in for a while and then we'll just have to see where we all are and what needs she has. One of the doctors in the building she is in now is the son of friends of the in laws. He called past to spend some time with her today, which she seemed to appreciate.

Just like fire, kind people can bring warmth.
