My daughter & Missy & I went for a walk above the Kawarau River this afternoon (possibly the Shotover River, but we weren’t sure if we were above the confluence with the Arrow River or not!), which is where we found this delightful small bird.

Our new cases total was 129 today; our highest daily tally yet.
The Govt has announced a new & complicated Traffic Light system of what will be allowed when & where. Virtually any business will have the power to mandate whether or not they’ll allow unvaccinated people into their premises. Whether this contravenes current Bill of Rights legislation is debatable but no doubt new legislation will be passed if necessary. The attitudes are high handed - I could say more. There is vast unhappiness NZ-wide now, understandably. Auckland could well be in lockdown till Christmas.
