Not Too Late For Roses
This rose is called "Julia Child," and has the most remarkable colors, starting out one way and ending another as you can see. I'm happy to have so many flowers this late in the year. A drizzly day, but clear enough in the morning to plant some seedlings and sow a few rows of seeds: broccoli rabe, arugula, cilantro, and escarole. I've got some old window screens that I use to protect the beds--they look very ratty but keep the creatures out til the plants are big enough to survive on their own.
