Winners All!

Today we were volunteers at  the Winchester Paralympic Personal Bests 2021 event, which was attended by 150 participants, who all have some kind of learning disability  and /or additional needs. The  objective was to provide an opportunity for them to try new sports in the  brand new Winchester leisure centre. Our job was to  support a team of about 25 people as they moved between the six different activities. My extra shows them at the football  skills session where they practised dribbling  the ball and taking  penalty shoots. Other sessions saw them doing athletics, circuit training, cricket skills, rugby skills and  squash exercises. Everyone was given a medal and certificate, and there were extra awards for those who had put in most effort or excelled in the sessions.     
Fortunately the sun shone on us, and we all had a great day, as I'm sure  you can see from my main photo!
